Date: Saturday, July 8
Time: 10 am -12 pm
Site: Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center, at 515 Cortland Ave.
The San Francisco Fire Department conducts Community Safety Fairs annually in each of our 10 Battalions. This is an effort to engage the communities we serve with their local Firefighters, EMTs, and Paramedics, to allow local communities to meet the members of their nearby Fire Stations, and to provide them with an overview of what we do.
Participating at each Community Safety Fair is the following:
- Public Information Officer with media
- Bureau of Fire Prevention Education Team
- Fire Recruitment Team
- EMS Medics for Hands-only CPR and BP and Stop the Bleed
- Battalion members participate in meeting the people they serve
- NERT for disaster preparedness
- Department of Emergency Management for 911calls and Disaster Preparedness
Community Safety Fairs will include Fire Prevention and Education materials, demonstrations on using a Fire Extinguisher, and answers to inspection questions. Department members will teach hands-only CPR, and our Recruitment team will be available to answer questions related to our Departments hiring process. Free Smoke detectors will be available while supplies last to residents of San Francisco.
After participating in our demonstrations, community members may be eligible to receive a fire extinguisher and other services from that organization if applicable. Click here to fill out an application with Rebuilding Together SF.
After participating in our demonstrations, if you require assistance installing a smoke/carbon monoxide detector, please contact our partners at the American Red Cross- Bay Area Chapter.
San Francisco Fire Department’s enhanced Fire Prevention and Education Team promotes fire safety through Community Outreach and Education. For more information, please see Fire Safety Education Outreach Program.
